President's Cleanup Campaign

President Darkwa, a strong advocate of college student volunteerism, led a team of top management personnel, faculty, staff and students of the university in a Presidential Clean Up campaign on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the newly acquired Abeka Campus.
The Clean Up campaign ,which drew several volunteers (staff & students), is a prelude to the President’s Clean Up Campaign initiative to be institutionalized next year.
The goal of the campaign was to provide a learning experience for students, awaken the good instincts of staff , create a connection with the community and make people feel the presence of the university in the community.
The exercise lasted for 4 hours and involved the clearing of debris, scrubbing of floors and wiping of surfaces, among others. At the end of the campaign, the volunteers were treated to a sumptuous lunch.
A volunteer remarked that the whole exercise was fun stating “I volunteered to showcase the university in the community. It was a positive effort.”
