POLICIES
The CPD is guided by a set of policies in the following areas:
1. Admission
Admission is offered to individuals who meet the entry requirement for a course or programme to be run. Prospective Candidates are expected to complete a registration form with required fees to be admitted into a programme.
2. Fees
For programmes that run longer than three months, applicants are expected to pay half of the full fees before the commencement of the programme. Student must have completed payment of fees within the first three months of the programme.
Applicants enrolling for workshops, seminars and other programmes whose durations are shorter than three months are expected to pay their fees in full before the commencement of the programme. Fees for workshops and training seminars must be paid in full at least a week before the workshop or seminar date. Every course participant must complete paying his or her fees to be eligible to undertake the final assessment for a course or programme.
3. Payments
Fees must be paid by banker’s draft/ Cheque to the account of the Centre for Professional Development. All payments must be made in the name of the Centre.
4. Withdrawal
Candidates who wish to withdraw from a programme must submit complete and submit a withdrawal form at least two weeks before the commencement of the programme. Candidates will receive full refund less administrative charges payable upon submission of the withdrawal form. There will be no refund for applicants attending workshops and seminars as well as applicants who withdraw less than two weeks to the commencement of a programme.
5. Deferment
Candidates who wish to defer a course shall complete and submit a Deferment Application Form to the Centre. All applications for deferment shall be due to valid reasons only, e.g. overseas postings or on medical grounds, and is subject to approval by the Head of the Centre. Application for deferment is also subject to the availability of a subsequent intake of the course. Candidates who defer will be required to pay the new course fee in situations where fee revisions are made.
6. Attendance
A minimum attendance of 70% is compulsory for candidates to be awarded the relevant certification.
7. Cancellation of Programmes
An advertised programme will be cancelled if less than twelve (12) applicants sign up for the programme. The Centre reserves the right to make changes to the course curriculum, course fee or any other relevant content or information as necessary. The Centre will endeavour to provide early notice in the event of course cancellation with a full refund of the course fee.
8. Facilities
Participants on programmes and courses may use library and wireless internet facilities free of charge. Prevailing rates apply for use of all other facilities in the University College. Terms and conditions apply.
9. Tailor-made programmes
The Centre provides customised training programmes to individuals and organisations. Individuals and organisations that require customised programmes and courses are required to put in a request at least two months to the commencement of the course to enable the Centre assemble the best of resources to deliver the programme.
10. Examinations
Rules and regulations relating to the University College’s Examinations shall apply to all examinations undertaken by the Centre.
