Educational Background: Isaac Hanson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications in The People’s Republic of China, and a Masters Degree in Engineering Technology from Vrije University of Brussels in Belgium.
Work Experience: He has worked with the Ghana Telecom Company Limited since 1994. At Ghana Telecom he worked in various capacities as Laboratory Assistant, Instructor, IT Expert and a Lecturer. He has received extensive training in many aspects of Telecommunications including Access Technologies, Transmission /Transport systems, Switching systems, IP Telephony, GSM and Mobile Networks as well as Information Technology.
He has held positions such as Head of Information Technology Dept at Ghana Telecom Training Centre (GTTC), Coordinator of GTTC –Multimedia University of Malaysia Affiliated DTE program and Head of GSM and Emerging technologies Dept at GTTC.
He lectured in various courses including, Telephony, Switching Systems, Digital Communication Systems, Networking, Computer awareness and applications programs, ALCATEL GSM Network –Subsystem basics and Fixed Cellular Terminal (FCT) systems at GTTC.
With the upgrading of the Training Centre into a University College, he became the Head of the Information Technology Department and later moved to Department of Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering as the head of the department.
Currently he lectures in Computer Applications, Voice and Data communications, Computer Architecture and Digital Computer Design as well as Microprocessors and Interfacing. He also acts as Head of IT Support Services of the University College.
Research Interests: With an extensive background in Telecommunications, Information technology and Computer Engineering, he would like to research into Digital systems and Multimedia applications, Mobile systems and networks with emphasis on the next generation networks. He is also interested in Transport systems as well as computer architectures, mobile computing as well as embedded systems.
