GTUC has threee (3) academic faculties that offer a wide range of courses that inspire and prepare students for careers in chosen fields. The facuties are :


Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering has a long and illustrious history as it traces its roots to the pre birth era of the university. It was established in March 2006 with the  Mission : “To be the premier Engineering Faculty in Ghana and the sub-region of West Africa, the first choice for undergraduate and post-graduate students,  to attract best quality academic staff and research personnel, and be ranked and benchmarked with the orld’s best Engineering Faculties”.

On offer are excellent programmes at  both undergraduate and postgraduate levels programmes namely

The focus of the faculty’s programmes is to provide world class education in modern communication networks and systems. Graduates of the programmes will be uniquely qualified for outstanding careers in telecommunications, data communications, network architecture, wireless technology, satellite and fibre optic communications networks.   
The faculty enjoys extensive contacts with staff and students of the University and is working in strategic alliance with a range of educational institutions to learn best practices.


Faculty of Informatics

Founded in 2005, the Faculty of Informatics is an exciting and stimulating place to study at GTUC.
On offer are programmes of study from undergraduate to postgraduate with  particular emphasis on flexible delivery.  The faculty has- state -of -the -art facilities and has established strong academic links with partners in  Denmark and beyond.
The Faculty operates as an integrated one and offers the following programmes:

The programmes of the Faculty of Informatics are designed to provide students with a broad-based knowledge in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Sciences, and Multimedia Studies. These programmes focus on both theoretical and practical demonstration of the principles of modern information and communication technology.


School of IT Business

Established in August 2009, the Faculty of IT Business offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes leading to the award of a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Banking and Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Management and  Accounting options), Bachelor of Science in Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Business Entrepreneurship and Technology.

The Mission of the Faculty is “to be recognized throughout Ghana and the African region as a leading faculty in IT Business, teaching and research. We aspire to create leaders who can understand, mobilize, and drive technology in rapidly changing and innovative business environments”.

The Vision of the Faculty is to become a leading faculty in Business Studies in Ghana and Africa.

The units within the Faculty are Accounting, Banking and Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Bu siness Management, Human Resource Management and Economics.
