The School of Business offers programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The School offers the following undergraduate programmes:

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship programme offers a foundation to develop business knowledge and skills. It combines the study of fundamentals of marketing, finance, communication and strategic management while emphasizing the impact of the dynamic, global information age on business.
The course structure includes principles of professional business communication and techniques used in the information age, while also offering instruction on teamwork, technology, problem solving, leadership, multi-cultural management issues and general education.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Banking & Finance

The Banking and Finance option combines the study of the fundamentals in the functional areas of business with skills in finance and financial services. Core competencies include tools and techniques used for planning financial strategies with emphasises on financial services in a globalized world economy.

Graduates will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that can help them begin careers in a variety of entry-level business or financial services positions including those in insurance, risk management and investments

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Human Resource Management

The Human Resource Management option combines the study of the fundamentals in the functional areas of business with an emphasis on compensation and benefit administration, employment law, workforce planning, training and development, and organizational behaviour.

The programme offers graduates the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills to pursue careers in a variety of entry-level business positions, especially those in recruitment, staffing and training.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing

This option builds on fundamental knowledge and skills in marketing and sales management in a global environment. Core competencies include tools and techniques used in retailing, market research, promotion, sales management and planning marketing strategies.

The programme offers graduates the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that can help them begin careers in a variety of entry-level business, general marketing, marketing research, advertising and retailing positions.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting

The Accounting option is designed to give students the knowledge, skills and abilities required for a successful, lucrative career in accounting. The programme teaches students to develop critical problem solving skills in accounting and management. Students will have a solid background in economics, management, law, information systems and quantitative methods.

This option has a 3 unit internship component which exposes students to the practical aspects of accounting in an accounting firm or in an organization. The programme also prepares students to sit for the Certified Professional Accountants (CPA) and the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) examinations.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Management

The Management option emphasizes understanding management theories, essential management functions and their interrelationships, and the global environment of business today. It allows students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be effective leaders and decision makers.

Students will develop the skills to develop and implement operational goals and objectives, and to effectively manage staff and financial issues in small, medium and large organizations.

Bachelor of Science in Economics


The primary objective of the Bachelor of Economics programme is to provide students with a broad knowledge of economic concepts and principles. It aims at equipping students with the basic intellectual tools that a good economist needs to be able to apply the economic concepts and theories to work out solutions. Students will be exposed to the use of statistical and mathematical tools for modelling economic issues.

GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The School of Business currently offers a Master of Science in Business Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET). The MBET is a two year course designed to prepare individuals for leadership roles in dynamic local, national and global business environments. It emphasises technological, innovative and entrepreneurial energies.

The MBET programme is designed to create leaders who can understand, mobilize, and drive technology in rapidly changing and innovative business environments.

It aims at training highly-qualified professionals who are technology oriented, and who will apply their technical knowledge to enhance their efficiency. It highlights the acquisition of technological, innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities.
It also focuses on creating business leaders who understand, mobilize and drive technology in today’s rapidly evolving and globalised business environments.

The programme will equip students with the requisite knowledge of business management and leadership skills to influence policy and decisions in fast changing ICT and business environments.

The MBET programme offers exciting career opportunities for students with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, science, mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, IT and related fields.

The programme is offered in a modular format with core modules in business entrepreneurship and information technology.  Students are also required to undertake a substantial project work during the second half of the programme, which more often, is based in or related to an industry. Assessment is based on a combination of formal examination, course work, case study reports and project work.
