Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Informatics of Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC). We hope you will enjoy the cyber visit to the most established center of computing learning and research in Ghana.

Growing as an integral part and one of the pioneering faculties of the University College, we have extended our focus beyond teaching into high impact research and scholarly pursuits, contributing to the placement of GTUC as the country’s best in information and communication technology.

Our state-of-the art computer labs, fully stocked library, modern teaching and learning facilities and a wireless environment provides a technologically friendly environment for effective academic work. It is therefore not surprising that, we have tripled our stellar faculty and increased our student body to over 500 students within a short span of time.

We offer undergraduate degree programmes in Computer Science, Information Technology, and MSc. and Ph.D programmes in Information System Technology, and Computer Science. Our long –term plan calls for establishing eminence in key areas of network communications, information technology infrastructure, interactive digital media technology, software engineering, computer game designing, and remote sensing and environmental technology

Faculty and staff of the Faculty are dedicated to providing first-rate education that instills strong basic knowledge for sound practice in science and technology for the well-being of society. We offer diverse curricula that nurture creative thinking and prepare students for productive and rewarding careers.

Our students have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of campus life: study abroad, entrepreneurship programmes, extracurricular activities, participate in faculty research, and also undertake internships in high-tech companies in the country.

By pursuing these diverse ways of enriching the learning experience of our students, we hope to groom future IT professionals who are not only able to meet the job market needs, but are also able to serve as the vanguard for new technological developments.

Our sustained efforts in enriching the learning experience of our students have yielded good results so far. Recent examples include the selection of some of our students’ projects by the Ghana Multimedia Incubator Center, an institution which seeks to promote ICT Entrepreneurship in the country. Some of our students have become promising techopreneurs even before they graduate.

This is an exciting time to be a student at the Faculty of Informatics as we continue to grow and enhance our programmes to national eminence.
